Eleven-year-old son “delivers” meals; Cops Ticket Dad

Philip Deutsch and his parents started Christmas Day in the Stanley Isaacs Center kitchen frosting cookies to make sweet holiday treats, then delivered meals to seventeen homebound elderly on the Upper East Side.

“He wanted to go back the next day and do it again,” said his mother.

“I like bringing food to people who might not have anything,” was Philip’s comment. Both of his older brothers are Citymeals volunteers on weekends.

Alas Dad was a bit disgruntled. He left the car to deliver a meal in a four-story walkup and got a ticket for illegal parking. Christmas? Charity? Hunger? Forget it. It’s illegal to park on 86th Street.
